Founder's LetterBorn on February 25, 2006 in India in a small village town called Thirumangalem, my parents bestowed me the name Jaisree David RaviKumar.
My maternal grandfather ran a rice mill business while my paternal grandfather ran a newspaper recycling business to give their families life. Both my grandfathers struggled to keep their businesses afloat due to a number of issues such as splitting profits between partners, handling accounts, etc. As a result, their families suffered and had to handle the consequences. Fortunately, my dad was introduced to the world of business finance by his close friend after moving to America which allowed him to truly understand these consequences. As far as I remember, our household has always been full of discussions on religion, philosophy, economy, finance, world events, and a variety of other subjects. The word “wisdom” is very important to me. It means something different from knowledge. While knowledge can be learned and gained, wisdom is passed down. I’ve been blessed to receive the wisdom that my family has passed down to me and I am blessed to study in a country with so many educational opportunities. I know without a doubt that many more people across the world could have saved their small businesses if they had the same wisdom I did. In our generation of great young minds, businesses are seen as rising platforms to bring change about the world. However, running a business is no easy task. Small businesses across the globe are struggling to sustain themselves. And it’s not only the economy and the businesses that are negatively impacted. When a business is affected, there’s a ripple effect in how individuals, their families, and their finances are also affected. The mission of the organization, 101 Small Steps, is to Identify young leaders who can help share the wisdom needed to prevent small businesses from failing and aid businesses in changing the world successfully! |
